It's late. The party's winding down, outside -- laughter still drifts in through the window, with chattering conversation, but more muted now. Susan and Cuthbert slipped away a while ago, for a more private wedding celebration.
When Alain and Lilly make their way to his room, they are flushed and laughing with happiness and just enough champagne to help make the world seem a wonderful place right now. Not that they really needed any alcohol for that.

"I'll miss being closer to as tall as you, but the heels really had to go. Man. That and Bernard and Tonks are tied for best weddings ever, huh?"
no subject
"I'm biased."
no subject
"Well, Bernard and Tonks didn't have us in their wedding, so I guess that means you're right. Susan and Koosh Allgood had the best wedding ever."
no subject
He laughs. "That's the standard, is it?"
no subject
"You're probably going to argue that the standard should be more like the whole happy-in-love thing the bride and groom had going on, aren't you?"
no subject
He crosses to the bed, and bends to kiss her quickly, still grinning.
"But I'm not going to argue tonight."
no subject
"Why do you have to be all tall? It's totally not fair."
no subject
He's laughing, though, and he rests both hands on the bed to either side of her as he lets himself be pulled back down into a longer kiss.
no subject
"Great job with the thwarting, there. I was completely foiled. Rats."
no subject
Unbuckling the gunbelts, now.
no subject
"You know, I think my favorite part was the vows. But my second favorite part was definitely the hats."
no subject
no subject
"What was your favorite part?"
no subject
"I don't know. All of it." A small smile, remembering. "Their vows, if I had to choose."
All the other words he'd heard before. They weren't so individually true.

Lilly sighs, and lets her hands drop.
"Can you use your unfair height advantage to see if there's still any pins in the back of my hair?"
no subject
"Not -- oh, here." Two more pins come out, and he smooths a hand over her hair, feeling for more. "I think that's all of them."
no subject
She smiles happily up at him.
"Of course, special occasions like the best wedding ever are worth it."
no subject
"Worth it, aye."
He's mostly behind her, from looking for hairpins. Now he slides an arm around her waist, pulling her to him, and bends over her shoulder to kiss her.
Against her lips: "And you looked very nice."
no subject
"You clean up pretty good too," she replies before kissing him back.
no subject
His other arm comes up around her, as the kiss deepens.

Alain is apparently both a gunslinger and a miracle worker.
no subject
Fortunately, there's an easy solution for that.
This is why Alain is now maneuvering them towards the bed.
no subject
This also means Lilly can now concentrate more on things like unbuttoning the first couple buttons of Alain's shirt and kissing his neck.
no subject
Her dress is very close to scandalous, by Gilead fashion. But Alain's standards have relaxed a fair bit at Milliways, and, as he tips his head to mouth along her collarbone, he has to admit that in private, scandalous has its advantages.
no subject
And even if Lilly wasn't occupied in trailing kisses down Alain's neck, it's highly doubtful that she'd complain about the distraction.
no subject
Wouldn't want to muss her fancy clothes, after all.
no subject
"Need any help there?" she asks as he finally gets it, her laughter muffled by his shoulder but still clearly audible.
no subject
With dignity, "Thankee-sai, but I have it."
There's a laugh hiding in his voice, though.
no subject
"Because really, zippers are supposed to be easier than buttons, you ken?"
no subject
Hear the dignity!
The fact that his back just arched into her caress, and that half the words are muffled by her neck as he nuzzles below her ear, are totally irrelevant.
no subject
A bit of wriggling and a moment later, she's not.
no subject
He's not complaining.
He is, however, nibbling very gently on one of those sensitive spots.
Murmured, "See? More freedom of movement now."
no subject
She does manage to take advantage of the freedom of movement to press even more closely against Alain, though.
no subject
There's also Lilly's warm weight against him, though, which is not something he much wants to change.
A few moments of somewhat distracted internal debate, and then he slides his hands down to her hips, and with a quick motion flips them over.
Freedom of movement, and all.
no subject
She starts to smile, reaches up to run her hands over bare skin and then pulls Alain down to kiss him deeply.
Shortly after that, the clothing issue becomes much less pressing. Which is a good thing, because at that point it would really get in the way.
